- Gowen, Franklin B. (1836-1889) - President of Philadelphia & Reading Railroad1866-1883; he was killed by gunshot in a Washington, DC, hotel and it is still unknown if it was a suicide or a revenge killing by the Molly Maguires.

- Gurley, Fred (1889-1976) - Began railroad career with the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy in 1906 where he was eventually promoted to executive vice president; became vice president of Santa Fe Railroad in 1939; elected president of Santa Fe Railroad 1944-1957; remained a director of the railroad until 1964, when the Santa Fe made him an honorary director for life.
